Dr. Mariam Chughtai - CEO
Dr. Mariam Chughtai is an education policy expert and Harvard-trained scholar whose work sits at the intersection of leadership, instructional design, and system reform. With a career dedicated to strengthening educational ecosystems across Pakistan and the Global South, she founded the Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning (CILL) to build capacity for a rapidly transforming world.
Drawing on extensive national and international experience, Dr. Mariam brings a research-driven, future-focused vision to Chughtai Institute.
Dr. Yasira Waqar - Board Member
Dr. Yasira Waqar is an education technology specialist with deep expertise in curriculum design, teacher training, and technology integration across grade levels. As Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), she leads academic innovation and faculty development at scale. Her research examines how technology transforms teaching, learning, and instructional design. At Chughtai Institute, Dr. Yasira strengthens our digital learning vision by guiding educators in leveraging technology for impactful, future-ready practice
Maryam Usman - Head of Programs and Outreach
Maryam Usman brings research-driven leadership, organizational improvement expertise, and international academic experience to her role as Head of Programs & Outreach at Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning. Holding a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Alberta, she has led strategic initiatives across Pakistan and Canada, strengthening curriculum alignment, professional learning, and stakeholder engagement. Her experience spans program design, inclusive policy development, faculty training, and community partnerships. Committed to evidence-based and data-informed practice, Maryam designs impactful programs and cultivates meaningful outreach initiatives that advance professional excellence, innovation, and equity.
Dr. Sabieh Anwar - Board Member
Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar is a renowned physicist, educator, and innovator, recently nominated for the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Education) in the Pakistan Civil Awards 2026. A Rhodes Scholar with a PhD from Oxford and postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley, he has significantly advanced STEM education and experimental science in Pakistan. At LUMS, he is Professor of Physics and former Dean of the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, where he founded the physics programme and its state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure. Maria Khan - Head of Academics
Ms. Maria Khan brings over a decade of leadership experience in driving academic excellence across diverse school contexts. A seasoned academic leader, she specializes in faculty development, instructional design, and building high-trust, high-performance learning communities. As Head of Academics at both Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning and Chughtai International School, she leads curriculum design, professional learning, and academic quality assurance, strengthening teaching practices and institutional capacity.
Anusheh Attique - Training and Development Manager
Ms. Anusheh Attique is a seasoned educationist and teacher mentor with expertise in adult learning, instructional design, and inclusive education across corporate, academic, and social-sector contexts. At Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning, she designs and delivers programmes that strengthen leadership, teaching, and learning through evidence-informed, human-centered practice. A certified trainer from LUMS and Carnelian, she has coached numerous professionals by blending strategic thinking with empathy, helping educators develop reflective habits, adaptive mindsets, and high-impact instructional practices
Fatima Haider - Independent Study Instructor
Ms. Fatima Haider works in the area of personalized learning support, with particular focus on instructional scaffolding and home and school alignment. Her practice centres on developing structured support systems that help learners build independence, confidence, and consistency in their learning.
At the Chughtai Institute of Leadership and Learning, she supports students through individualized learning plans that align closely with classroom expectations and curricular goals. Her work prioritizes continuity across learning environments, ensuring that students experience coherence between school-based instruction and additional academic support.
Waqas Manzoor - Storytelling Trainer and Coach
Mr. Waqas is a Lahore-based visual and performative storyteller whose work integrates theatre, narrative performance, and photography to deepen creative engagement. As founder of (دیپ ناؤ Deep Now), a social enterprise advancing art-based education, he has brought innovative, expressive learning experiences to diverse communities. At Chughtai Institute, he enriches professional learning through arts-driven methodologies that strengthen communication, creativity, and reflective practice for educators and leaders

Saira Minto is an educational leader, curriculum specialist, and teacher professional development facilitator with extensive experience in early and primary years education. Her work focuses on supporting schools and teachers in implementing open framework curricula that promote inquiry, conceptual understanding, inclusion, and student agency.
