Workshop Description and Delivery:

Our leadership trainings are designed to go beyond theory, they are experiential, hands-on, and deeply immersive. Participants don’t just learn about leadership; they practice it in real time through simulations, role plays, case studies, and reflective exercises.

By engaging in these experiences, leaders uncover their strengths, challenge assumptions, and develop the agility needed to navigate complex realities at an organisational as well as individual level. The focus is on purposeful leadership, collaboration, and decision-making under pressure, ensuring participants leave with practical tools and lasting insights they can apply immediately in their professional and personal lives.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course participants should be able to:

1. Differentiate between leadership and authority
2. Define and reflect on the characteristics of formal and informal authority dynamics 
3. Separate technical problems from adaptive problems
4. Define purpose and work avoidance
5. Identify self on a disequilibrium map
6. Develop stakeholder maps with different factions and perspectives
7. Demonstrate techniques to handle group dynamics and leadership intervention cycles

Workshop Facilitator

Dr. Mariam Chughtai

Dr. Mariam Chughtai holds a Doctorate and two Master’s degrees in Education from Harvard University. During her time at Harvard, she served as a teaching fellow at the Graduate School of Education and taught Negotiations at Harvard Law School and Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School. In 2015, she returned to Pakistan to establish the School of Education at LUMS, where she continues to serve as a faculty member. She also served as Director of the National Curriculum Council at the Federal Ministry of Education for three years, leading the development of Pakistan’s first Core Curriculum for Grades 1–12 with consensus from all provinces.Dr. Chughtai is currently the Pakistan Director for the Harvard Mittal South Asia Institute. As part of her family business, she sits on the Board of Directors of Chughtai Lab, Pakistan’s largest private healthcare network.

Mr. Adil Sattar

Adil Sattar holds a BSc (Honors) in Economics and an MPhil in Education Leadership and Management (ELM) from LUMS. He is an international development professional with over five years of experience in program design, strategy, and project management.

With a strong background in adaptive leadership, he has trained graduate students, mid-level managers, and government officers at institutions including LUMS and AKU. Adil combines his expertise in leadership development with a passion for driving impactful and sustainable change, particularly in the education and skills sector.
