Overview
Connecting learning through the power of music that is creative, meaningful, and fun for every classroom. In this workshop, we’ll explore how music can spark creativity and connect learning across subjects. We’ll begin by looking at what transdisciplinary learning means and how music can help students engage, think critically, and see links between language, math, science, arts, and social studies.
Next, we’ll dive into the basic elements of music lyrics, melody, rhythm, and sound, and explore practical ways to bring these into the classroom. Through hands-on activities, you’ll see how even simple musical ideas can make learning more meaningful and fun for students. Finally, we’ll focus on designing your own age-appropriate, transdisciplinary music activities. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with concrete strategies, ready-to-use ideas, and inspiration to bring music into your teaching in ways that connect, engage, and inspire.
